To All:

We're managing to cover all of our operating expenses so far with our regular income (T-Shirts, Hats, Web Ads etc.)

Any donations we receive will be going towards lights and are being put in a seperate fund. Whenever that fund reaches what we need for lights, we'll get lights. Till then, we'll run with what we got. We heard a lot of talk last summer and fall about lights, so here's everybody's chance to vote for lights by getting out your checkbook or credit card. So far I've only seen two donations. If every truck would kick in $50-$75, we'd be in great shape. (That's less than what most of you spend on gas travelling to one race.) Obviously not everyone will, so if you can spare more, then we'll be that much closer sooner.

I'll try to get this worded more clearly on the website.

The light system would be used to start the race, call red lights(jumps), and tell who won the race. The system can determine red lights and the winners down to milliseconds- Way faster then a human eye. There are also many options that would be nice to add later. For example: speed(MPH), printer so racers can get a time slip, 60 foot, for Launches. They do make wireless systems which would be really nice and helpful to make the system portable.
I would like to know what everyone is thinking????? good or bad- Let us know
If other race associations that have gotten lights would like chime in please do. I would like to know of pros and cons. I know when I raced at Kearney Race Way that everyone there (and everyone that drag races) Lived and Died by the tree. I think that the biggest challenge will be getting familiar with it and moving the system from town to town.
Thanks for the question

We've been looking at a few different systems and talking to some of the Mid-States guys. Still doing our homework, and have not decided on the exact system yet. I'm cautious to throw an exact number out there yet, but estimating between $3000 and $5000. What exact system we go with might also depend on how much gets donated.

Sara sent our donation in last night, I was a little suprised to see that only 5 people have donated so far. I figured as many people where upset about the jumping it would be a lot higher by know. Let us know if theres any thing else we can do Brandon, Also want to say thanks for all your time and effort your putting into this. Mike

I am not only surprised, but very disappointed in the the response to the donation button thus far. So many complained about lights. Not only for jumping the start line, but for being cheated at the finish line also. We are looking at systems that can cure SOME of these issues. They cost money!!!! If you dont think lights are necassary, let us know. We'll quit looking. Just tired of the whinning about who jumped, who won, and who lost. Who cares! We should be in it for fun anyway! (the only reason I started doing this) If your not, I think your in it for the wrong reasons! Just my opinion.

I would like to also say that it will take time (as well as money) to get the system ordered in and get it up and running. Now is the time to GET R DONE!! And yes I donated.
