Noticed that we missed specifying the driveshaft loop/scatter guard specifications for the Open Class in our rules, so they were updated to reflect that.

Also had some questions asked about the new scatter guard/driveshaft loop specifications, so we posted some pictures and explanation in the Rules Q&A section of the forum.

February 3, 2010:

ANNOUNCEMENT:

Following the conclusion of a very successful 2009 season, several things have been set in motion for our organization. We thought we’d take a moment to update our fellow racers and sponsors as to how things are progressing in preparation for the 2010 season.

As the numbers of racers and events have increased in the past couple of years, it was felt that a more organized approach to running the Custer County Mud Draggers had become necessary. So, back in November several individuals were chosen to work as a team to shape and define the future direction of CCMD. Working off from your feedback in the suggestion box and experience of those on the team, we’ve been meeting regularly to address the issues before us.

Our first priority last fall was to get the 2010 Rules & Classes revised and published as quickly as possible so that those working on their vehicles knew what changes would be taking place. Currently we are working on setting up an official organization (non-profit) for CCMD to continue operating under. We are also upgrading our light system and of course this year’s schedule.

We are making progress, but the main issue we are running into at this time is funding. Therefore we are asking for your help. We have set up a donation page on our site where donations can be made online or by mail. Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated.

We would like to assure our racers, sponsors and host communities that CCMD’s overall focus has not changed. Our primary goal is to continue promoting the sport in a way that is beneficial for our local small town communities and provide as much consistency from race to race as possible for our racers.
